Comic Con
Yesterday's "spay-on tie" strip featured Weenus's comic collection. Although he collects the "Radioactive Mosquito" series, the covers are actually all famous (and highly valued) *real* comics. I copied the covers quickly during the coloring phase. You might recognize the tiny covers in this blown up version.

Lepus Puttupus
It looks like this is some crazy miniature golf course in Texas but what do I know. From the thrilling lens of Annabelle Texter. Her awesome Flickr stream is here.

Creepy Furry Parenting
This is either a traumatic Easter outing or an example on exactly how not to raise a child. Via Grottu Orloff's Pad.

Rabbit Heads and Red Pajamas
One of my all-time favorite artists, Kaz, did this cover for the now sadly defunct Nickelodeon Magazine back in 2000.

Insectopia
Yesterday's strip features mosquitos.
I just got back from Guatemala (photos coming soon) where I was able to get a few strips drawn in addition to a bit of sightseeing and mudslide avoiding. Since Central America is mostly hot and humid for most of the year, there are always a lot of insects which I always find both fascinating (since they are generally speaking completely mad looking and ten times the size of insects in California, and bothersome (since they tend to enjoy the exotic Hemoglobin libations that can be found within my veins. Thus, they tend to crop up in my rabbit strips a lot. This one was done in Brazil last year.
And here's one from Mexoco in 2008.

Snoopy Against Magic
I had a lot of fun at the Charles M. Schulz Museum Sketch-a-thon on Saturday. Here's me at my post just before it started. I made the cut-out characters the night before.
As well as me, there were seventeen amazing cartoonists at the event including this years Reuben Award winner Dan "Bizarro" Piraro. I was in between Mike Gray who does animations for Nickelodeon and Greg Knight who works on Star Wars stuff. Both amazingly talented guys.
It was great to meet so many wonderful people. Here's a photo of Rabbits fan, Erica, who let me deface her sketchbook with a doodle. There's some more photos here.

Zis Rabbit Into My Hat
A snippet from a Potsy the Parrot strip from the ever-entertaining Big Blog of Kids Comics. This was a strip drawn in the 1943 by Don Arr (real name Don R. Christensen) and appeared in Giggle Comics.

Jack Rabbits Against Bad Postcards
From the excellent Bad Postcards blog:
WORLD’S LARGEST JACK RABBIT
Odessa, Texas
Odessa, Texas
Verso: “True Plains Rabbit lives only in the West. Burro-like ears gave him his name. Color is protective, blending with sand and dry grass. Very long legs made him a swift runner. Clocked at speeds to 45 miles an hour. Object of hunts with Greyhounds. The rabbit was prized by Plains Indians for food and fur, to the white man a reminder of Desert-Hard Life. In Drought and Depression times, it was a source of meat for thousands, Subject of many tall tales. Hero of World’s only Jackrabbit rodeo in Odessa, May 1932.”
The postcard is from 1967.

The Annoying Clipboard Syndrome
The amazing Canadian Rina Piccolo (Tina' Groove and Six Chix member) was filling in for Hillary Price on her Rhymes With Orange strip last week and doing a most excellent job. I'm sure most of you remember back in July last year when Hillary and I both ran the exact same Jaywalking joke on the same day. Well, on Sunday the coincidence gods were at it again as Rina and I both decided to run with a street clipboard joke! Thanks to Alex Hallatt for pointing it out and also for turning me onto Rina's awesome and very edgy Velia, Dear strip.
Quentin Against Magic
If you look in the last panel of yesterday's strip you'll see a small lugworm in the seat behind Eightball. This is a thrilling piece of white hot crossover action featuring Quentin from the most excellent Ollie and Quentin strip. He was surprisingly hard to draw. The position of the eyes and the curved body to indicate a seating position are very subtle.
