World Cup Fever

I make no apologies for being a soccer fan.  Even though I've been living in the US for the last 20 years I still have the sport in my blood.  I did a special World Cup strip yesterday to commemorate the start of the tournament in South Africa. Notice the official flag and ball in the first panel.  It's details like that which raise this strip to the heights of mediocrity. Also, Eightball is holding a vuvuzela, the plastic horn that you'll hear constantly throughout the tournament which sounds like a swarm of killer bees.  I know many people who think that would probably make the game more exciting.

What a terrible gaffe by the English keeper. I guess it was a gift from my former countrymen to the former colonies :-)

The vuvuzela doesn't make it more exciting, but it does make it VERY annoying to watch on the telly. If I was at the game, I would have to wear ear-plugs.

Maybe the game would be more exciting if you but bees in your ears instead of plugs?
